First Pass in our training tour:Tizi n'TestA long snaking climb which you can see for miles. The gradients are mostly gentle as you climb almost 1,000m in the High Atlas. Morocco & The Atlas Mountains Cycling Itinerary
Our Atlas Mountain breaks run Sunday to Sunday. This is a perfect mix of getting out and exploring the Atlas and having some time to discover Marrakech. Itinerary: Day One:Marrakech Arrival day. Fly into Marrakesh where our host will meet you for the transfer to the hotel. Today is a relaxed day where we will build your bikes, hang out by the pool and then all get together for our welcome dinner where your Sportive Breaks & local hosts will talk you through the plan for the week. Day Two:Marrakech After a nice breakfast we roll out at 10am for a short 40km spin having lunch on Lake Takerkoust. Arriving back to the hotel in Marrakech just after 1pm, we then have a walking tour of the Medina at 4pm finishing with dinner in the main square in Marrakech. Ride Distance55 km. Elevation Gain450 m. Day Three:Marrakech to Ait Benhaddou We start out Atlas adventure with a transfer to the bottom of Tizi n Tichka and on fresh legs tackle the highest climb of the trip. The gradients are 2-5% with no steep sections so it is easy to find a rhythm and spin to the top. From there we have a thrilling descent and then turn off onto the superbly quiet road all the way to our hotel in the ancient town of Ait Benhaddou. Ride Distance94 km. Elevation Gain1900 m. Day Four:Ait Benhaddou to Talouine After yesterdays easy / flat day, today is rolling throughout. We roll out at 9am for a full day on the bike with a lunch stop and regular snacks at the feed stations. This is the most remote we go on the trip. You have the option to get in the van for the first 50km and make it a 100km day or take on the full 155km finishing in Talouine with a great 8km descent. Ride Distance155 km. Elevation Gain1250 m. |
Day Four: Ait Benhaddou to Talouine: After yesterdays easy / flat day, today is rolling throughout. We roll out at 9am for a full day on the bike with a lunch stop and regular snacks at the feed stations. This is the most remote we go on the trip. You have the option to get in the van for the first 50km and make it a 100km day or take on the full 155km finishing in Talouine with a great 8km descent. Ride Distance155 km. Elevation Gain1250 m. Day Five: Talouine to Tizi n Test: A classic climb for the day. We start with 70km of flat, quick riding and then turn onto the long climb of Tizi n Test. We finish at the top of the mountain and take in the incredible views for miles beneath us. Ride Distance103 km. Elevation Gain2072 m. Day Six: Tizi n Test to Asni We start the day with a thrilling, long descent down Tizi n Test before hitting some incredible shorter climbs and rolling terrain before finishing in Asni. Ride Distance90 km. Elevation Gain1200 m. Day Seven: Asni to Marrakech Our final ride day, we ride over one last climb and have the option to add another 50km and ride up to the ski station of Oukaimeden, the toughest climb in the region. We then roll back into Marrakech triumphantly all together before our final dinner. Ride Distance88 km. Elevation Gain1800 m. Day Eight: Marrakech Departure day.
